Mock Orals Prepare You for your ABOG Exams

The most common test format throughout medical school and residency is overwhelmingly a written exam. Years of experience with the written format make taking the written exam straightforward and predictable. Preparing for and taking an oral exam, however, are quite different. Experimentation with the oral exam format should not be reserved for your first encounter with the oral boards. DO NOT take this exam cold!

ABC Mock Oral Exam--What is it?

A mock oral exam simulates your oral board exam. Years of feedback from past participants allows us to very closely reproduce the exam setting. Most will need at least three mock oral exams to scale that exponential learning curve to reach a comfort level to be ready for your test.

ABC Oral Exam Faculty

ALL of the ABC examiners are PRACTITIONERS. Just because you are obviously practicing OB/GYN doesn't mean other courses' faculty are...and unfortunately are NOT!

The ONLY way to REALLY understand if a candidate is knowledgeable, is if the examiner is actually managing the very issues that he is examining you on. We encourage you to seek out mock oral exams at home--with your colleagues, retired partners, specialists that you refer to, etc. They won't charge you a dime. Quantity is good. However, remember their only experience with an exam was their own! At some point you realize, don't try this at home. You need an examiner experienced in testing AND one who knows the latest exam trends. Don't risk getting false reassurance from an amateur or non-practitioner.

Type of ABC Oral Examiners

ALL of the ABC examiners are PRACTITIONERS. The ABOG examiners are both generalists and sub-specialists. The AOBOG examiners are all generalists. ABC provides the same examiner profile.

Family practice

If you are taking your ABOG oral boards, we recommend you have both a generalist and a sub specialist examine you. Each has a different perspective. Too much is at stake to gamble with which perspective your ABOG examiner will take.

Type of ABC Mock Oral Exams

ABC offers Private, Telephone and Dr. Das Mock Oral Exams.

Private On-Site Mock Oral Exam

A private mock oral exam is conducted by an ABC faculty of your choice. This is a one-on-one, private session that occurs during the ABC course. This can be recorded for later review for a nominal fee.

Telephone Mock Oral Exam

Not ready yet? Got cold feet at the course? I need more!!

A telephone mock oral exam occurs over the phone. You may also choose which ABC faculty to examine you. And, you can take as many as you want.
