Dr. Shannon Ingwersen is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist.  She completed her undergraduate training at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.  She then received her medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida where she continued on to complete her OB/GYN residency.  Following residency, she moved to Colorado and joined Centura Health Physician Group where she worked as a full scope OB/GYN generalist for over four years.  During this time, she had two children of her own and realized she wanted to be back in Florida closer to her family.  She moved back to her hometown in Melbourne, Florida and joined a private practice performing full scope OB/GYN care. She has since started working as a locums tenens OB/GYN to provide her family with greater flexibility. 
Her passion is in 4^th trimester care and she has also gone on to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.  She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and is active in the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (ABM). While not seeing patients, Dr. Ingwersen enjoys spending time with her family, the Florida beaches and traveling.
