Finally, our MFM Oral Exam Webinar starts on January 29th, perfect timing to practice explaining concepts and reviewing cases with our faculty. Each session will be case-heavy with plenty of opportunities to articulate answers. Don't be taken by surprise on your exam! You’ve got this!

Test Taking Technique:
This is an ORAL exam, so get used to talking out loud (our webinar will give you lots of practice).
Our Oral Exam FAQs can spoon feed you questions similar to those most frequently asked by your examiners.  Questions are organized by topic for 1) Genetics/Fetal Disorders/Fetal Anomalies, 2) Obstetrical and Surgical Complications and 3) Medical Complications of Pregnancy. This is a great tool to guide or cross-reference your studying.

FPMRS 2024 ORAL Exam Candidates

We are kicking off the new year with our Virtual 3-Day FPMRS Board Review Course from Jan 5-7, 2024. Join us for our exam-focused, High-yield, interactive review session. Register today for the opportunity to receive a 25% discount.

Shortly after this, we will kick off our 12-session Oral Exam Webinar for FPMRS oral exam candidates.  The first session starts on February 4th with Dr. Pillalamarri. Your case list must be in the proper format and with the required number of cases. You now have to use the online case entry system through ABOG. We have FPM faculty on hand to review your case list. They will review it with a keen eye and point out strengths and weaknesses like repetitive language, inconsistencies, or lack of detail that you may fail to recognize since you’re likely working on a document that has been revised multiple times by this point. You will then have the opportunity for a one-on-one phone consult to review the highlights. Don’t pass up on this opportunity. Having a well-constructed full proof case list is a critical part of your exam success.

Exam Tip:
Your exam will include structured cases. The lead-in question is brief – just a few words or no more than a sentence. About half are immediately followed by three questions:

What is your differential diagnosis?
How would you work up the patient?
How would you manage her?

This portion of the exam reflects the Board’s attempt to standardize the exam. The cases are straightforward management down the algorithm pathway. Remember, everybody will be asked the same questions as you. So, work on developing a depth to your differential diagnoses; try to come up with at least three working diagnoses. The next question, “How would you work her up?” is dependent on how you answered the first.

REI 2024 ORAL Exam Candidates

It is time to get serious with your oral exam prep and finalize your case lists. If you were unable to attend the REI Oral Board Review Course in December, the REI Review Course Recordings are available for purchase on our website. They will be available for your review until the April 2024 REI certifying exam.
We are kicking off the new year with our 12-session Oral Exam Webinar for REI oral exam candidates. The webinar series will begin on January 28th and will provide a forum to practice articulating your responses with our faculty. The format of the webinars will be primarily structured cases designed to simulate your actual oral exam. You will have the opportunity to interact with the presenter live as you review the cases and provide your responses. You’ve got this!

Test Taking Technique:
Do not expect to answer 100% of the questions correctly. Often times, the examiner will push you until you finally don’t know the answer. Don’t misinterpret this as failing the question. On the contrary, you probably passed it long before, but the examiner may simply want to explore the depth of your knowledge or reassure himself that you will acknowledge your limitations. The best way to prepare for an oral exam is with practice. Our REI Faculty is ready to conduct mock orals on either your case lists or thesis.
Looking for references as you prepare for your REI board exam?  ASRM has all kinds of documents, each with its own purpose and methodology?
In addition, we designed our ASRM Committee Opinions to save you time and effort by providing a concise review of the most relevant Committee Opinion publications.
