Faculty - Joshua Combs, MD, FACOG

Dr. Joshua C. Combs is the Chief of Reproductive Medicine for Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and the 633d Medical Group, Joint Base Langley-Eustis. As a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility sub-specialist and Obstetrician Gynecologist, he served as a tri-service consultant for military patients and their families worldwide, providing a comprehensive range of medical and surgical treatments within the scope of reproductive healthcare. Dr. Combs received his medical degree from East Tennessee State's Quillen College of Medicine, his residency training at Wilford Hall/San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio, TX, and his fellowship training at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. 

Additionally, Dr. Combs practices as a staff physician at Eastern Virginia Medical School's Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine and The Women’s Hospital in Newburgh, IN, while also serving as an assistant professor of OB/GYN at EVMS.

His research contributions include numerous peer-reviewed publications on topics ranging from polycystic ovarian syndrome genetics to cost-effectiveness analyses of preimplantation genetic testing for sickle cell disease and his ongoing commitment to advancing reproductive medicine is further demonstrated through his leadership roles on various medical boards and committees.
