Prasanna Fernando, MD, MHA, FACOG

Dr. Fernanco gained his inspiration to pursue a career in women’s health from Drs. James Smeltzer and Kevin Windom at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Atlanta, GA. He then completed his clinical training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Brooklyn Hospital Center.  He then completed his Master in Health Administration at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City prior to starting at Stillwater Medical Center.
Dr. Fernando’s clinical experience is in surgical gynecology. His primary specialty focus is minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery for fibroids, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, and endometriosis. He currently serves on the ethics, electronic medical record, and facilities management committees at Stillwater Medical.  
In his spare time, Dr. Fernando enjoys working as a mechanic on older generation Mercedes Benz diesel cars. He also volunteers his time to work at the Stillwater Community Health Center and is actively working to launch a community women’s clinic.
